OUTLET AND FACTORY SHOPS
Hong Kong has an increasing number and variety of outlet and factory shops ranging from famous brand and designer shops to small shops and stalls selling local goods often produced for export and often factory overruns or seconds. Detailed below are lists of
(i) known "famous name" outlet shops and factory shops trading under own brand name
(ii) other outlets, factory shops and warehouses ranging from those selling luxury designer brands to cheap locally made export goods, seconds, factory overruns etc
(iii) general streets/districts where outlets can be found.
The list was originally compiled during May 2009 when visits were made to many of these shops and the list has since been updated in accordance with changes notified to us and during further visits. The list was last updated in May 2010. Whilst every effort has been made to verify the accuracy of the list it has not been possible to visit every shop as outlets are constantly opening, closing and relocating. There is also a recent trend towards "temporary shops" where premises are rented for only a short period during which intensive sales take place. FACTORY OUTLETS/DESIGNER OUTLETS – These range in variety from shops selling luxury goods at discount prices in prestigious shopping malls to small shops selling locally produced goods often intended for export. Brands include famous brands, less well known designer fashion labels and at some outlets goods may be seconds with slight defects or excess production. Many of the smaller shops are located at street level, upstairs in office buildings or in markets and may not have facilities or allow clothes to be tried on before purchase. Goods are almost exclusively ladies casual and smart casual clothing, shoes, handbags and accessories although there are a small number of shops selling other goods such as watches, gifts and novelties.
Hong Kong Fashion City within Hong Kong Industrial Centre
The main entrance to the fashion mall is on Castle Peak Road, about 5 minutes walk from Lai Chi Kok MTR Station. From Exit B1 at Cheung Sha Wan Road take Tai Nan West Street on the left and walk to the traffic lights a short distance ahead and then turn left down Castle Peak Road and enter Block C of the building at "Hong Kong Fashion City". Shops are on three floors. Hong Kong Industrial Centre has more factory shops in the adjacent Blocks B & A. There are also factory outlets on the opposite side of Castle Peak Road at Envy Plaza and also at Cheung Sha Wan Road at Fashion Wholesale Mall, 833 Cheung Sha Wan Road next to Lai Chi Kok MTR Station Exit A.
Sunny City Fashion in Hong Kong Industrial Centre
SHAM SHUI PO MARKETS AREA - This area has about 250 fashion wholesalers, exporters and factory outlets selling direct to the public and is a major area for "bargain" shopping for ladies (mainly casual) fashion. The outlets are located on Cheung Sha Wan Road from its beginning at the junction with Tai Po Road approximately from numbers 2 to 260 on the north side of the road and from approximately numbers 171 to 269 on the south side of the road. There are also a number of outlets located off Cheung Sha Wan Road on Pei Ho Street, Kweilin Street and Hei Ho Street. Most outlets are at ground level although some are located on upper floors of buildings. The shops along Cheung Sha Wan Road deal almost exclusively in ladies fashion although there are a few exceptions such as the Leung Tim Choppers Factory Shop at number 221 which sells a remarkable array of rather frightening implements. Closest MTR station exits are Sham Shui Po exits A1,B1, C1 and D1.

FA YUEN STREET ("SNEAKER STREET"), MONGKOK – Outlet shops selling known Western brands are located between street numbers 160 to 199 near Prince Edward Road end. Many other shops selling discount shoes, adult and children’s clothes, young fashion, jeans, ski wear, cosmetics and body care products. Also numerous sports retailers selling famous brands sports shoes and sportswear at discounted prices. When asked most retailers will allow further discounts to the already discounted marked prices.
Fa Yuen Street also known as "Sneaker Street" and "Sports Street" has many famous name sports shops. Whilst not officially "outlets" these shops offer discounts and a wider range of products than most outlet and factory outlet shops.

THE LANES OF CENTRAL (LI YUEN STREET EAST AND LI YUEN STREET WEST) – two parallel lanes connecting Queens Road Central and Des Voeux Road with shops, permanent stalls and hawker carts. Discount adults and children’s fashion. Shops 2,3 and 4 Li Yuen Street East are good for children’s clothes, shops 5 and 6 good for adult clothes. Also recommended Uno Oun at shop 7/11 (and other shops elsewhere –see above) and In & Cute at shop 12. On Li Yuen Street West Fast Fashion Warehouse at shop 28 is recommended.
